Great news! Fabric of the North will now run for an extra month, to the end of January.
Since this is a selling exhibition, and you may not want to leave your lovely purchase hanging in the Museum for so long, we will refresh the display - generally with another work by the same artist - whenever a tapestry is bought and removed.
With Covid, we lost the thread - but now Fabric of the North is looming up again.
We had to cancel the first showing of this major exhibition, at Cromford Mills in Derbyshire. The decision was very upsetting for everyone who had put in so much work and time. The second showing was scheduled for October at Kirkleatham Museum, Redcar, and because of Covid it was looking rather iffy. Now we can confirm that Kirkleatham is definitely on - and not only on, but now scheduled to run from 1 October right through to Christmas. This is fabulous news.
And there's more! The Cromford leg of the exhibition may be held after all, in 2021. We're busting a gut to help that happen.
