Weaver and exhibition designer Jane Riley is preparing the layout and hanging of Fabric of the North. Her recent work, In Suspension, has just been accepted by the jury for the European Tapestry Forum's highly regarded ARTAPESTRY. The exhibition opens in Denmark in January, then tours other European locations over the following two years.
Jane will be showing one of her wonderful seaweed tapestries at FOTN. Meanwhile, enjoy this preview of In Suspension. Congratulations, Jane!
While Covid continues, we're taking our workshops online. We're lucky to have signed up two very talented and experienced professional weavers to run Zoom workshops. Michael Crompton will moderate three sessions on Design Process, and Alastair Duncan will run three sessions on Weaving with Sound. (Yes, you can actually listen to his magnificent tapestry on the left.) The workshops are priced at £6, or £15 for a series of three, and will take place in October, November, December. There is a limit of 12 places per session, and you can book online on our Events page.
PS: if you've never taken part in a Zoom event, don't worry - it's a doddle. If you have internet access, and a camera in your computer, you're 10 seconds away from joining in, and we'll provide easy joining instructions to participants.
