What the artist says:

Fractured World was inspired by Konstantin Yuon’s (1920) The New World. When I saw the original painting I could feel the panic, turmoil and pain. It moved me to think of our world now!

My interpretation shows that my world hasn’t changed after 100 years. We now have a far more divided world. I wove it as a triptych to amplify stable, less stable and a slipping away of reality. The jagged edges also illustrate this. The single figure shows how feeble our attempts to change anything in society appear to be.
